Listub Task Manager

Listub Task Manager is a clean, capable shared to-do list with subtasks, reminders and custom statuses, best for families and small groups. It is not a full project management tool, and sharing needs a paid plan.

What we like

  • +Subtasks with visible progress on each task card
  • +Due dates, reminders, repeating tasks and overdue flags
  • +Custom statuses, from a simple checklist to a board
  • +Assign tasks to a partner, flatmate or colleague with notes
  • +Full offline editing with automatic sync
  • +Tasks with dates feed Listub's shared calendar

What could be better

  • −Sharing your own task rooms requires Premium or Family
  • −Built for households and small groups, not complex project management
  • −No web or Windows app; iOS, Android and macOS only
  • −No home screen widget yet

Finding a shared to-do list app that is simple enough for a family but structured enough for real projects is harder than it sounds. Listub Task Manager aims for that middle ground. It is one of the core modules of Listub, the all-in-one organiser from Cologne-based Galveo, and together with the Shopping List and Magnet Notes it was among the first three modules the team began testing in 2021.

This review draws on Listub's published module page, plan details and guides rather than hands-on testing. We cover subtasks, reminders and repeats, custom statuses, sharing, offline use, Galveo AI and whether the free plan is enough.

What is Listub Task Manager?

Task Manager is Listub's to-do module. You create rooms, for example a personal list, a household chores room or a small project, and add tasks with dates, notes and owners. Personal and shared work sit side by side, so you can keep your own list private and use a separate room with the people a job actually involves, without switching apps.

Listub positions it against the notes-plus-calendar-plus-memory approach many people use. Instead of a list you stop opening, each task has a due date, a status and, if needed, subtasks that show how far along it is.

Key features: subtasks, reminders and custom statuses

Subtasks turn a vague job like 'sort out the move' into steps you can tick off, and the task card shows overall progress so nothing quietly sits at 90 percent. Reminders bring a task back at the right moment, repeating tasks such as taking out the bins or paying an invoice return on their own schedule, and smart alerts warn you before something is due and flag it once it is overdue.

Statuses are flexible. You can rename existing states or add new ones so a room reads like a simple board, or cut it down to two states so it behaves like a plain checklist. That makes the same module work for a shopping-style chore list and for a small group project.

  • Subtasks with a progress indicator
  • Due dates and reminders
  • Repeating tasks
  • Due-soon and overdue alerts
  • Custom or renamed statuses
  • Assignments and notes per task

Shared tasks for families, couples and small teams

Assigning a task hands it to a partner, flatmate or colleague, and a note can explain what has already been tried. Everyone in the room sees the same state, which removes most of the 'did you do it yet?' messages. Listub highlights three uses: family life with chores, homework and paperwork; small teams that need owners, dates and a readable status without a heavyweight project tool; and personal projects broken into steps.

Sharing your own rooms requires Premium or Family. Free users can still join a room that a paying member shares with them and use it fully, so a household does not need a subscription for every person. Dated tasks also appear in Listub's calendar, which pulls entries from every module into month, week and day views.

Offline use and Galveo AI

Task Manager works without a signal. Tasks can be added and edited offline, changes queue on the device and sync automatically when you reconnect.

Galveo AI, the AI assistant built into Listub, handles plain-language requests such as 'call the dentist tomorrow' or 'finish the report by Friday', and it can break a larger goal like 'launch the website' into steps. You review what Galveo AI prepares before it is saved. The free plan includes Galveo AI and paid plans include Galveo AI Pro, both under a fair-use policy.

Pricing: is Listub Task Manager free?

Yes. Tasks, subtasks, due dates, reminders and custom statuses are all on the free Basic plan, as is every other Listub module. The free plan is limited to one device, up to five rooms as owner and no sharing of your own rooms. Premium adds cloud sync and sharing, up to 50 rooms as owner and three devices at once, while Family adds three extra members, up to 400 rooms and up to 20 devices.

Both paid plans are budget-priced subscriptions, with launch pricing that Listub says stays locked in for early subscribers. Solo users on a single phone can stay free; anyone who wants shared chores or a phone-plus-Mac setup will need a paid plan.

Limitations and who should use it

Task Manager is deliberately lightweight. Listub does not advertise features such as time tracking, dependencies or Gantt charts, so teams running complex projects will want a dedicated project tool. The app is also limited to iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac, and there is no home screen widget at the moment.

For families, couples, flatmates, clubs and individuals who want a fast shared to-do list with real structure, it is a strong choice, especially if you also want the rest of Listub's modules in the same app.

Frequently asked questions

Is Listub Task Manager free?

+

Yes. Tasks, subtasks, due dates, reminders and custom statuses are all included on the free plan. Premium and Family add sharing of your own rooms, cloud sync across devices and higher limits.

Can I share a to-do list with my family in Listub?

+

Yes, on Premium or Family you invite people into a room, assign tasks and everyone sees updates in real time. Free users can join rooms that a paying member shares with them.

Does Listub Task Manager support subtasks and repeating tasks?

+

Yes. Tasks can be broken into subtasks with a visible progress indicator, and repeating jobs come back on their own schedule with reminders.

Can I use Listub as a chore app for kids?

+

Yes. Listub describes family chores and homework as a core use. Create a shared room, assign tasks with dates and reminders, and everyone sees who is responsible.

Does Listub Task Manager work offline?

+

Yes. You can add and edit tasks without a connection. Changes are stored on the device and sync automatically when you are back online.

Is Listub Task Manager good for project management?

+

It suits small teams and personal projects with owners, dates, subtasks and custom statuses. It is not designed for complex project management, so larger teams may need a dedicated tool.

Which devices does Listub Task Manager run on?

+

It runs on iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, and Mac. There is no Windows, Linux or web app.

Listub Task Manager covers what most households and small groups need from a to-do list: subtasks with progress, reminders and repeats, flexible statuses and clear assignments, all usable offline. The free plan includes every feature for solo use, and a single paid plan unlocks sharing for a family. It will not replace a professional project tool, but as a shared to-do list app for iPhone, Android and Mac that also connects to your calendar, lists and plans, it is a very solid pick in 2026.
