Visit Eufy (Anker Innovations) →The Eufy Omni S2 is Eufy's flagship robot vacuum and mop, launched about two years after the Omni S1 Pro. The S1 Pro was praised for mopping but trailed rivals on vacuuming, navigation and thresholds. The S2 targets all three: Eufy claims up to 30,000 Pa of suction, up from 8,000 Pa, along with a new camera-based obstacle system, a chassis that lifts over rugs and thresholds, and a second-generation roller mop.
This Eufy Omni S2 review draws on Eufy's specifications, published hands-on reviews and owner feedback. It covers cleaning results, navigation, the dock, noise and value, and how the S2 compares with the Roborock Saros 20.
Design and dock
The robot is nearly round and only about 85 mm tall, so it reaches under more sofas and beds than taller models. The dock is tall at 67 cm but slim, with bronze accents, a status display and touch controls on top, so you can check errors without bending down.
The dock does almost everything. It charges the robot, empties the bin into a 2.5-litre bag that Eufy says lasts up to 68 days, refills clean water, treats that water, washes the mop at 70°C, dries it with hot air, and doses detergent from a built-in bottle. The robot even carries a fragrance diffuser, with three scents in the box. The detergent and fragrance capsules are Eufy-specific, but the dust bags are generic.
Eufy Omni S2 mopping: the roller advantage
The S2 uses the HydroJet 2.0 roller mop rather than spinning pads. Eufy says water is sprayed onto the roller through 32 holes while dirty water is scraped off and collected as the robot moves, and the mop presses down with 15 N of force across a 29 cm (11.4 in) width. Because the roller stays clean during the run, it spreads less dirt and copes better with wet spills than pads that are only rinsed at the dock.
Reviewers found mopping as strong as on the S1, which was already a highlight. A dried ketchup smear came off wood flooring easily, and the roller slides outward by about 1.5 cm to reach edges. The murky water in the dirty tank shows how much it lifts. That tank needs emptying often, because it smells if left for a couple of weeks.
Vacuuming and suction performance
Vacuuming is the big improvement. TechRadar found the S2 clearly better than the S1, picking up every oat from carpet and lifting a flour-and-biscuit mix from wood flooring on standard settings. For the best results, use Standard or Turbo suction with two passes, and save the most powerful mode for deep carpet.
Like most robots, the S2 can flick larger debris across hard floors with its side brushes, so whole-room passes work better than tight spot cleans. The DuoSpiral anti-tangle brushes are rated for hair up to 50 cm, and reviewers found the rollers still looked new after many hours. A cyclone-style bin also keeps the filter from clogging.
Navigation and obstacle avoidance
Obstacle avoidance is one of the S2's strongest points. Eufy's 3D MatrixEye 2.0 system detects objects over 1 cm and recognises more than 200 types. In published tests the robot drove neatly around a shoe, a sock and a USB cable, getting close without moving or swallowing them. It also avoids rug tassels.
Eufy says the chassis crosses single thresholds up to 3.5 cm and double thresholds up to 4.2 cm, and reviewers note it can raise itself by up to 50 mm on deep-pile carpet. It handles rugs and door strips much better than the S1, though Roborock's Saros 20 is rated for taller steps. Mapping is fast, and the app adds 3D furniture to the floor plan.
App, noise and reliability
The Eufy app is one of the best robot vacuum apps available. It is clearly laid out, lets you split and rename rooms, save several floor maps and create one-tap routines such as an after-dinner kitchen clean. A child lock and off-peak charging, useful on time-of-use electricity tariffs, are nice extras.
The S2 is quiet. One reviewer measured about 55 dB in Quiet mode and about 70 dB at maximum power, much quieter than a typical stick vacuum. The same reviewer's first unit lost its connection to the dock after a month and was replaced, and the replacement ran without problems. That is a single report, but worth knowing at this price. Eufy now offers a two-year warranty on robot vacuums launched in 2026.
Is the Eufy Omni S2 worth it?
The Omni S2 is among the most expensive robot vacuums you can buy, and the replacement parts kits aren't cheap. What you get is a machine with few weak spots: excellent mopping, much better vacuuming, reliable obstacle avoidance, a quiet and elegant dock and a polished app.
It is worth it for homes with lots of hard floor, frequent spills and clutter on the floor. If thick rugs and tall thresholds are your main problem, the Roborock Saros 20 is the better fit. If price matters most, Eufy's Omni C28 gives you a roller mop for far less.
- Buy it if: you want the best mopping plus reliable obstacle avoidance
- Skip it if: you need to cross very tall thresholds or want low running costs

Frequently asked questions
How strong is the Eufy Omni S2 suction?
+
Eufy claims up to 30,000 Pa, a big jump from the 8,000 Pa of the Omni S1. Its US product page lists the figure as 100 AW. Independent tests confirm clearly better carpet cleaning than the previous model.
Does the Eufy Omni S2 use a roller mop or spinning pads?
+
It uses a roller mop called HydroJet 2.0. The roller is sprayed with clean water and scraped as the robot drives, then washed with hot water and dried in the dock after each run.
How high a threshold can the Eufy Omni S2 climb?
+
Eufy says it can cross single thresholds up to 3.5 cm and double thresholds up to 4.2 cm. That covers most door strips and rugs, though some rivals are rated for taller steps.
Is the Eufy Omni S2 loud?
+
No. Published measurements put it at about 55 dB in Quiet mode and around 70 dB at full power, and the self-empty cycle is quieter than many docks.
Eufy Omni S2 vs Omni S1 Pro: should I upgrade?
+
The S2 vacuums much better, avoids obstacles more reliably and climbs thresholds more easily, while keeping the S1 Pro's excellent mopping. If vacuuming or navigation bothered you on the S1 Pro, the S2 fixes those issues. The S1 Pro remains on sale for less.
What ongoing costs does the Eufy Omni S2 have?
+
Expect to buy dust bags, detergent, fragrance capsules and periodic replacement brushes and mops. The detergent and fragrance capsules are Eufy-specific, and full replacement kits are relatively expensive.
The Eufy Omni S2 fixes nearly everything that held back its predecessor. Vacuuming is now strong, obstacle avoidance is among the best around, the roller mop keeps hard floors spotless and the app is a pleasure to use. The price and running costs are the main drawbacks, and homes with very tall thresholds may prefer Roborock. For a hands-off clean of busy, mostly hard-floored homes, it is one of the best robot vacuums of 2026.
